Hello! I'm Elizabeth M. Hesse, a Minnesotan author who loves creating new worlds, exploring complicated characters, and finding the light in even the darkest moments.

Looking for the Micro in the Macro

Beyond writing, I enjoy exploring other forms of visual storytelling, from illustration and graphic design to photography. Whether I'm capturing a moment through a camera lens or imagining a scene on the page, I'm drawn to the little details that make a larger story feel real.

Storytelling has always been a way of understanding people.

I'm fascinated by people: how they think, what they fear, what they believe, and how they respond when life doesn't go as planned. I'm especially drawn to the relationships that shape us, the choices that reveal who we are, and the quiet moments in which courage begins to take root. My Christian faith also influences how I see the world and the stories I tell. Themes of identity, belonging, sacrifice, and hope often find their way into my work, alongside the belief that our worth isn't something we have to earn.

What I Hope to Create

I want to write stories that treat characters as people first and pieces of a plot second—stories that can be imaginative, adventurous, and full of conflict while still making room for vulnerability, difficult questions, and genuine human connection.

Above all, I hope to create stories that stay with readers long after they read the last page. Whether it's a character finding courage, discovering where they belong, or learning to recognize the people who choose to stand beside them, I want my stories to remind us that even amid conflict and uncertainty, there is room for growth, connection, and hope.
